Bony Growths Reno-Tahoe Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center NV 89511Bony growths are sometimes seen in the mouth and they usually develop in early adulthood and onward. This is because of a few different reasons.

Though they are not painful and do not cause any discomfort, it is something that sometimes needs to be taken care of to ensure that the mouth is healthy.

However, every person is different and due to this, every bony growth has to be assessed by a dental professional to find the best course of action for treatment.

Causes of Bony Growths in the Mouth

One of the biggest causes of bony growths in the mouth is from the pressure that is put on the teeth in the mouth. This can cause the growths to become larger.

When this happens, the mouth tries to make up for the pressure that is being put on the area by putting a bony growth there. The bony growths are attached to the mandible inside the mouth. These growths can become so large that they expand across the entire top of the mouth.

Sometimes these bony growths will have to be removed to ensure that they are not a form of oral cancer, however, they're usually not associated with this and generally come out as benign.

This can ensure that the person with the growths is taken care of and that the problem that is seen is not anything serious that requires further treatment.

If you find that you have bony growths in your mouth, it is important to speak with our dental professionals. If it is causing you any type of discomfort or if it is covering the entire top portion of your mouth, speak with our dentists and surgeons to find out what types of solutions we may be able to offer you.
